The Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Edi Rama, paid an official visit to Paris today with a working lunch at the Elysee Palace, where he stayed for over two hours, at the invitation of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron.

The visit takes place in the framework of the high-level political dialogue between Albania and France, to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, the dialogue on the new approach to the membership process, for which the Prime Minister of Albania has been one of the most encouraging voices, as well as the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara. Today’s is a continuation of the meetings between the two leaders, who met officially in Paris in April 2024, as well as in Tirana in October 2023 and May 2025, while regular meetings in various multilateral formats and telephone contacts have been held.

Albania appreciates the role of France and the personal commitment of President Macron in promoting a new approach to the Western Balkans and in supporting the European perspective of the region. In this context, the visit to Paris is expected to reaffirm the common will to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries and to further advance Albania’s European integration process.

After the talks, Macron reacted on the “X” platform, where he praised the relations between Albania and France, emphasizing cooperation in areas such as innovation, education, culture and tourism, while reconfirming France’s support for Albania’s European integration and the continuation of reforms on the path towards the EU.

“Welcome, dear Edi Rama! The relations between Albania and France are very good in innovation, education, culture and tourism, showing our closeness. We want to give a new impetus to this partnership, further strengthening economic and defense cooperation. France reaffirms its support for Albania’s European integration and for the continuation of the necessary reforms on the path towards the European Union”, writes Macron./ Top Channel
