Prison Escort Scandal/ Former Police Officer: It Costs 10,000 Euros to Put a Girl in a Cell!

In the studio of the show “Studio24” on News24, where this alarming situation was discussed, the former senior police officer, Shemsi Prençi, and the well-known lawyer Arbër Hoxha have shed light with concrete figures on how the “business” and bribery work inside Albanian prisons. The former police officer, Shemsi Prençi, made direct accusations against prison leaders and officials, stating that the scheme of introducing escorts inside cells requires extraordinary amounts of money, which go towards bribes and arranging false documents. “It costs 10 thousand euros to introduce an escort inside the prison. The officials receive the money, while the girl receives another payment. She also pays separately to issue the relevant permits to introduce her into the institution.” According to him, everything is well-organized and nothing happens without the approval and benefit of the structures that run these institutions. On the other hand, lawyer Arbër Hoxha focused on another luxury prohibited in prisons, which are mobile phones.

He indicated that the prices for having communication with the outside world are steep and operate on a kind of monthly “tax”. “To get a phone inside the prison it costs 1500 euros. But it doesn’t end there, because to keep it without being seized, every month they pay from 300 to 500 euros”, revealed lawyer Hoxha in “Studio24”.
