“It’s useless to come out as an independent, no one believes me. I’ve been with the Socialist Party my whole life. When they tell me to come to the protest, I tell them I have the space and freedom to do everything, to debate, to do the right thing as a deputy of the Republic but also as a citizen. I don’t want to benefit politically from this protest. You’ve seen my opposition colleagues, who come out there and no one will even know about them. I want to benefit from the mandate I have and the work I do,” he said.
