Fier, Lezha and Durrës are the regions most at risk from fires on Sunday afternoon and during Monday.
The warning comes from the Institute of Geosciences, which announces that the highest risk is expected at the beginning of the week.
According to the institute’s forecast, the risk level for forest fires in these three regions will be high. Meanwhile, a moderate level is predicted for Shkodra, Tirana, Elbasan, Berat, Vlora and Gjirokastra, while in Kukës, Dibër and Korçë the risk level is expected to be low.
The institute emphasizes that in some areas of the country the risk will be locally high, specifically south of Shkodra, west of Tirana, west of Elbasan, west of Berat and northwest of Vlora.
Regarding the weather, maximum temperatures on Monday are expected to reach 31 degrees Celsius on the coast, 34 degrees in the lowlands and 27 degrees in the mountainous areas. The wind is expected to blow light to moderate, while occasionally in the mountainous and coastal areas it will be strong.
