The Minister of Internal Affairs, Besfort Lamallari, says that the decision to declare Ikballe Huduti Berisha an “undesirable person in the Republic of Albania” for a period of 15 years was made based on information from intelligence services.
In an interview with ABC News, Lamallari stated that Ikballe Huduti Berisha threatens national security.
Lamallari also added that the State Police manages data on other persons who pose a danger to the country.
“It was based on intelligence information. The decision was based on intelligence information, it is appropriate, for the benefit of our country. And any information that they have, which over time concludes that the person’s activity constitutes a threat, leads to such decision-making.
There is also a deportation order. If he is found within the territory of the Republic of Albania, he is deported from the country. I have reacted at certain moments, I do not share information that I legally have to keep restricted.
A protest that started as a citizen protest became a platform for foreign agendas. There are foreign agendas that do not want Albania in the EU.

Albania is not a country where citizens were not afraid to protest. The State Police also has the obligation to administer any information about any person who poses a threat to national security.
Of course, this is our duty. We guarantee citizens, but we cannot allow this to be abused by people with suspicious activities.
“This is the daily work of intelligence and law enforcement services, to take preventive measures,” emphasized the Minister of Internal Affairs, Besfort Lamallari.
