In a statement given to Greek media, the victim’s sister made the shocking confession, revealing that they had made a plan together for her escape, but had postponed it because they did not have time.
Regarding the question of whether there were suspicions that the 41-year-old had suspected Vasiliki’s intentions to leave, the victim’s sister said: Recently, she has been telling him every day: Let me go with the children, I don’t want anything else.
She further added that the 41-year-old had hit her 39-year-old sister many times, protothema.gr reports.
“Otherwise, I had lived with them all these years, we raised the child almost together when I lived in Kalamata,” added Vasiliki’s sister, while regarding the couple’s two children, she said that they are currently with her and somehow learned about what happened on Monday in their home.
Earlier, ELAS spokesperson Constantia Dimoglidou stated that the young woman was acting in self-defense, saying that the findings of the forensic doctor who examined the body and performed an autopsy at the site where the body was found, as well as our findings, indicate that a person who was fatally wounded by so many blows and has several defensive wounds, obviously cannot be the aggressor.
“She tried to defend herself from the attack. The body was in very bad condition, in addition to the stab wounds, there were also blows that missed the target,” Dimoglidou added.
It is reported that the most difficult part of the moment was getting the children out of the house.
When police arrived and entered the house, they found children sleeping, adding that so far it does not appear that the children understood what happened.
We recall that the serious incident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning, when the 41-year-old man fatally stabbed his wife.
Regarding the incident, he said that he was forced to take the serious action after a heated argument he had with his partner.
“We argued, I grabbed the knife and killed her,” the 41-year-old man who fatally stabbed his wife in Kalamata is reported to have said.
